Artist's Comments
One of my recent works I did in V.Art class. Took about...4 hours? Maybe more.
 About umm...5 class periods (one period = 40 mins) Gahh...I can't be bothered to do the math right now. Well, the idea behind this is that danger always lies behind the face of beauty. Around me, I see people who only seek beauty falling into the traps. Many beautiful things are truly nice and beneficial, but there is so much more that are ready to strangle you and suffocate you after taking all the good away from you. As it can be seen from the picture, the butterflies symbolize the beauty and attractivness. (ugh...who likes butterflies?! :S) And...I guess the girl who was enjoying the sight got struck by a spear...Haha...I realize the spear is kinda random, but the was the best way to represent risk&danger without too much gore (I'm keeping it under 13 I hope - since I will be hanging this up in the school). I could've done an accident scene, or a decapitated head, but yeah. Not really good for the little kids. It was really fun doing it except at one point, a drop of red acrylics fell right above the nose... carefully scraping it off wasn't that much fun. That really could've ruined the whole thing.  Maybe the mouth is too big XD |
